  ArcelorMittal VLoad® version 1.1: design of capping beams of steel sheet piles with significant vertical and/or horizontal loads

Bridge abutments, retaining walls of underground car parks and basements are typical applications where high vertical and / or horizontal loads are transmitted to the sheet piles through a capping beam. Currently, the design of the capping beam takes into account the resistance against punching of the concrete (shear failure), and requires some local steel reinforcement. The design is based on national standards and regulations, and may vary by country.

The software ‘VLoad’ was developed to actually allow engineers to design cost-effective concrete capping beams in a fast way, including the steel reinforcement and based on the German Technical Approval.   HZM-AZ Stresses 2.1.3.1 - stress analysis for the HZM / AZ combined wall system

This software allows the user to easily select a solution based on the bending moments and chosen safety factor on the steel stresses. The user can also prepare a basic material list for a straight retaining wall. Additional feature: calculates the wall properties of any combination with an AZ infill sheet pile, ranging from the AZ 12 to AZ 28-700 (zip - 0,8 MB).

Dwg files are compatible with AutoCAD 2005 and above. Refer to the section headed "Delivery conditions" in the sheet piling catalogue for information on tolerances and maximum fabrication length.
